2010 ONCE AGAIN EVEN BETTER RESULTS
KCC SETS NEW GCSE RECORD
Kingsbridge Community College has set a new record for the number of students gaining at least 5A*- C GCSEs. This year 85% of the year group achieved this, comfortably beating last year’s figure of 78%. Over 27% of the grades were at A* or A and 83% of all entries gained A*- C grades. 64% of students gained 5A*- C including English & Maths, showing considerable progress since this year group entered College with the lowest average Maths scores for some years.
29 students gained at least 9 GCSEs at A* or A
Among top performing students this year were Oliver Rake who gained 11A* and 3 A grades and Emma Andrews, Tom Ballentine, Katie Hammett, Georgia Lubrani, Oliver Naylor, Bethany Walker, Holly Wildish-Jones and Adam Wright who each gained 12 A*/A grades.
A STUNNING YEAR FOR A LEVEL SUCCESS
Students at Kingsbridge Community College are celebrating excellent A Level results this year. 137 students took A levels achieving 99.7 pass rate, the highest ever, with 54% of all entries at the top A/B grades.
12 students gained at least three A grades. Jenny Sterry was the top student, gaining 4 grade As and a B. 8% of all grades were at the new A* level. In order to achieve this level, students had to gain over 90% in their final exams.
Three students won Oxbridge places. Alex Smith is reading Chemistry at Oxford, Jack Baxter is reading Medicine and Katherine Shepherd Natural Sciences both at Cambridge.

2009 - COLLEGE ACHIEVES A NEW RECORD
GCSE Results
Students at Kingsbridge Community College have broken previous records for GCSE results. 67% of students gained the government’s benchmark 5A*-C grades including English and Maths. This is the best ever result for the College, and well above the national average of 47%.
31% were at the top two levels of A*/A. 81% of all grades were A*-C level.
Remarkable results were achieved by high flying students with Henry Tozer and Kate Pope each achieving 11A* grades. 38 students gained at least 8A*/A.
Principal Roger Pope said ‘We are absolutely delighted with these results. We take pride in the achievements of students at all levels. Some have achieved well from a very low starting point on entry, and others have hit the jackpot. Many congratulations to them all.’
A’Level Results
Students and staff at Kingsbridge Community College are celebrating excellent A Level results this year. The pass rate of 99% was the highest ever and 46% of all entrants gained the top two A/B grades.
Top performing student Mary Foord-Weston gained 4 A grades and a distinction in the Biology Advanced Extension Award. She has gained a place at Merton College, Oxford to read Biology. Nine students achieved at least three A grades.
Principal Roger Pope said ‘Students have reaped the rewards of a lot of hard work and committed study. We are delighted that they have done so well and offer both students and staff many congratulations on their achievement.’

2008 Exam Results
A LEVEL RESULTS 2008
Students at Kingsbridge Community College have achieved outstanding A
level results this year. A record number of passes were at Grade A with
half of all the entries gained the top two grades of A and B.
The pass
rate maintained last year’s level of 98%.
The high flying students set a new record with 16 students, the largest ever number, gaining at least 3 A grades. Sam Cook not only gained four A levels at grade A, she also gained top grade in her AS of Critical Thinking and a distinction in the English Advanced Extension Award. Hannah Sterry gained 5 A levels, with 3 at grade A, after deciding to take Physics in just one year.
Tom Pope and Jonathan Swinard gained places at Oxford University. Both gained four A grades and Distinctions in the English Advanced Extension Award. Tom is reading Politics, Philosophy and Economics, and Jonathan Music.
GCSE RESULTS 2008
Students at Kingsbridge Community College have achieved GCSE results that match previous records. 78% of students gained at least 5 A*-C grades. This figure is once again well above national averages and equals our best year ever.
High flying students achieved fantastic results. Three students – Jenny
Sterry, Katherine Shepherd and Marie Page- gained a total of 42 A* grades
between them. Megan Collard and Aleks Marsh each gained 12A* grades. Across
the year group students achieved 203 A* grades, the highest ever for the
College.
In total 36 students gained at least 8 A* and A grades, and 28.6.%
of all entries were at this level.
