Year 10
Students follow the AQA GCSE course. This involves the study of 4 areas: My World/Holiday time & travel/Work & Lifestyle/The young person in society. Students build on the listening, speaking, reading and writing skills acquired at KS3, through a variety of activities. Grammar and vocabulary testing is done on a regular basis. In the GCSE examination, the 4 skills are equally weighted.
Year 11

In Years 12 & 13 students study the following topic areas: day to day matters, society, the working world, environment and citizenship and the International context. They will also study grammatical structures in more depth. 3 units for AS level and students take 6 for A2. These cover all 4 skills; listening, reading, speaking and writing.
