The Coast of Many Colours Students from Year 7 at Kingsbridge Community College, and year 4's from five primary schools: Salcombe, West Charleton, Thurlestone, Loddiswell and Malborough; all worked together for a day to produce recycled sculptures as part of a Devon project 'The Coast of Many Colours'. During the day students worked with teachers Cathy Palmer and Sadie Medway to produce art work using the recycling they had brought in with them. The work was inspired by Cornish artist David Kemp and the ideas were broadly based on African Masks. The work was stunning and will be exhibited at 'The Coast of Many Colours' exhibition in June. |

| The presentation had an unexpected addition of awards. Cadet Ellen Oram (Year 10) was presented with an award for ‘Good Citizenship’, for her part in providing evidence where she had described suspects who she had seen leaving a crime scene. Using the knowledge she had gained from the Cadet unit she made a superb statement to CID offices and gave a text book description of the suspect; this enabled further lines of enquiries to be carried out. | ||
| 10/05/2010 | KCC Mock Election Results |
|
So its all over. No hung/balanced parliament here, although a 'Monster bounce' nearly upset the result. Campaigning to the bitter end, Tom Tozer (Lib Dem) hung on for victory in a hard fought but very positive mock general election here at the College. The big issues in the country - immigration, the economy, education, Europe - lit up two weeks of frenetic campaigning. An excellent Leaders' debate at the end of the first week caught the imagination and we were off! All of the staff involved would like to thank the candidates for doing such a great job in bringing politics into college life. It does matter, you can make a difference! Results from our election were as follows: |
