Trips - Ski2010 to Crans Montana - Switzerland

Ski2010

The 2010 Ski and Snowboarding trip took place on Friday 12th February to Saturday 20th February, in Crans-Montana, Switzerland and was yet again another fantastic ski trip. The resort has one of the most beautiful panoramas in the Alps. The views over the Imperial Crown of the Weisshorn, the Zinalrothorn, the Obergabelhorn, the Matterhorn and the Dent-Blanche were striking. With great piste conditions and no major injuries throughout the week the group returned with a healthy glow and many stories to tell.

The Resort
The towns of Crans and Montana are situated next to each other on the high broad plateau at an altitude of around 1500 metres with a panoramic view of the Rhone Valley and some of Switzerland’s best loved mountains: The ski slopes stretch from the high plateau up to the Plaine Morte Glacier at 3000 m. Directly beyond the edge of the forest the pistes are broad and open slopes, ideal for beginners and deep-snow skiers. Advanced skiers will take the chairlift to La Toula to find a really challenging descent. Particularly popular are the broad carving pistes and the valley descent down the Piste Nationale which, at 12 km, is the longest in the region.
