Training for Ten Tors Challenge
Ten Tors is a thorough test of both physical and mental strength. With two or three changes in the weather every day, almost mountain-sized hills to climb, bogs dotted around like a mine-field and difficult terrain to cross, as well as the well worn paths proving difficult at times, it’s a substantial challenge for anyone to take on the moors in competition. From Friday 4th March to Sunday 6th March, a large group of students from the College travelled up to Dartmoor to train for their Ten Tors expedition later this year. Led by Neil Cameron and Liz Renshaw, along with a few volunteers, the students hiked across the Tors and set up campsites. A great weekend was had by all even though most teams found themselves a little lost and in need of help. The group consists of students aged 14-18 and training occurs regularly in preparation for the event in early summer of this year. Good luck to all students taking part in this gruelling challenge. |
