Sixth Form Enrichment

Enrichment

Sixth Form life also presents many opportunities to extend, enrich and enjoy a range of activities outside of the curriculum.

A large number of students get involved in a wide range of activities including horse-riding, golf, work experience, photography, gardening, canoeing, climbing and many more! Included in this is an opportunity to gain a Duke of Edinburgh Award and take part in the annual Ten Tors or Tour de Trigs Competitions. Also offered on the varied programme are a number of sporting activities and the chance to represent the College in one of the high achieving sport teams.

The enrichment programme encourages students to find opportunity to gain experience in other environments.

Another new option available to students for enrichment this year is yoga. For a small cost students can participate in a yoga session every Wednesday afternoon. It takes place at harbour house and is run by Martina Edmonds. 15 students already attend the yoga session and find it a great way to relax. Many of the students also say that they probably would not take part in yoga if it hadn’t have been an option for enrichment.

Yoga is great for development of the body and mind and a wonderful opportunity for students who may not have the time or money to participate in a yoga class outside of school.

Many students will sign up for work experience whilst others will chose to challenge themselves with the gruelling Outdoor Education programme. Whatever the choice of the student, the enrichment programme is vital to the success of our students and gives them an opportunity to take their learning further in something that will help them develop as young adults.

The enrichment programme gives students opportunities to show leadership and to make a real difference in our community and further afield.
