Sixth Form Student Support
Student Support
Sixth Form students are supported in a number of ways at Kingsbridge Community College.
All students will have excellent subject staff who monitor academic progress and provide support where necessary to enable students to reach their academic potential.
All students are part of a tutor group. The tutor runs the day to day business of the tutor group and is the main source of communication and pastoral support. Students have personal tutoring sessions with their tutor either individually or in small groups throughout the year. Discussion during these sessions is based on academic progress and any other issues a student wishes to discuss.
In addition to the tutor there is Mr Snell, Miss Widdows and Mrs Graham who are responsible for the running of the Sixth Form. They are available for help and advice if your tutor is unavailable.
The administration for the Sixth Form is organised by Kay Ryder and Rosemary Bromley. They are the ‘One Stop Shop’ for all queries and will advise students on the best way to solve any issues.
Connexions advisors are based on site and Sixth Form students can self refer if they wish to make an appointment. Connexions offer a range of support which includes counselling, advice and guidance regarding applications to Higher Education and help and support in seeking employment or apprenticeships post 18.
The Youth Enquiry Service is an organisation which supports many of our Sixth Form students. It offers a whole range of help and support. Students can access the service by contacting YES telephone number 01548 857535.
