Student Support
Student Support exists to assist high levels of welfare for our students – in order to enable good learning our students need to be healthy and happy.
The Student Support building is located to the right of Reception. Student Services is open from 8.30 until 4pm every school day and usually staffed by Mrs Fish who is a trained First Aider with help from the Learning Co-ordinators Mrs Stevens (also fully first aid trained), Mrs Collacott and Mrs Hales.
Students sign in at Student Services if they are late arriving to college and cannot attend registration in their tutor group. Students also need to sign out again should they need to leave the college site during the school day for medical appointments or other pre-arranged reasons. Students are not permitted to sign out without prior permission.
Student Services also provide support for students during the day such as:
First Aid and looking after student’s personal medication The first port of call when feeling unwell
Someone to talk to if students have personal issues (such as bereavement, bullying or family break up) which are upsetting or worrying them
Spare school uniform and PE kit
Allocation of lockers
Lost and confiscated items such as jewellery, ipods, mobile phones and items of clothing are also retained here until collection. Student Services is also a hub of information for staff and students alike for help with things like temporary planner sheets, replacement trip letters and timetable information.
The Year Leaders Office is situated in the Student Support building. The Year Leaders are:
