Dance Council

The dance council makes decisions about what clubs, projects, trips, shows and professionals you want. Get involved by speaking to Miss West.

The dance council has the following aims.
Communicate across the school and local community to raise the awareness of Dance opportunities.
To improve the standard of dance at Key Stage 3 in extracurricular activities and in performance.
To provide quality opportunities in Dance through performance, leadership and professional experiences.

DANCE EVENTS - 2010

KS3 Boys Dance Workshop with professional Kuldip Singh Barmhi
29th March – a three hour workshop to introduce contemporary dance in an accessible and physical way. Students will learn techniques, contact work, low flying floor work and also work on a performance piece. If you think your child may be interested please ensure you contact Miss West. ext 146

E-Scape Dance Sessions
These will restart after the Easter holidays
The contemporary class will be Fridays in DR1 fortnightly for mixed ages and require only a small amount of dance experience .eg club, performance etc.

30th April, 7pm  to 8.30pm
14th May, 4pm to 5.30pm  - Please note different start time
28th May, 7pm  to 8.30pm

Hofesh Schechter Trip
Theatre Royal, Plymouth, Friday 14th May
6pm coach pick up, approx. 10.30pm drop off
Tickets £12
Parents welcome. Letters are available from Miss West

A-level Dance Assessment Day
1st April, 9- 3pm
Students will be assessed on all of their coursework in the Hall

GCSE Dance Moderation Day
20th April, 9-3pm
Students will perform all of their coursework again for moderation purposes
