Photo ‘shoot’ at Plymouth Aquarium

Aquarium Photoshoot

Plymouth Art College invited some of the AS & A2 Photography students to attend the opening of their new Underwater and Surface-Based imaging course.
The launch was held at The Plymouth Aquarium and the students had the opportunity to photograph ‘The Attic Dance Company’ performing under water.
A great and unusual experience for the students.

Workshop with Claire Booth & Sam Atkinson

boothandatkinson

The AS Photography students worked with two local professional photographers, Claire Booth and Sam Atkinson. The students learnt how to set studio flash lighting and how to take photographs of moving people using ‘gels’ and ‘honeycombs’.
The photographs were manipulated using Photoshop, creating unusual and interesting results. The students also learnt some ‘tricks of the trade’ used by professional photographers.

Saltram House with Eliot Seigel

Saltram House Shoot

The A2 photography students had the opportunity to work with professional photographer Eliot Seigel. The ‘shoot’ took place at Saltram House near Plymouth, where we had the use of several rooms, displaying valuable artefacts and antiques.
Studio lighting was set up and after dressing up in period costumes the students, with the guidance of Eliot, learnt how to take more unusual portrait photographs.
