Product Design Course Description
GCSE Product Design (AQA)
This subject encourages students to design and make products with creativity and originality, using a range of materials and techniques. Packaging, labelling and instructions are encouraged as part of the complete design proposal.
Students will undertake a variety of minor projects in year 10 which cover much of the theoretical aspects of the course with an emphasis on industrial practice and the use of CAD/CAM. During these projects students will also be taught broad range of practical skills and techniques. In year 11 the students complete there major project which is contributes to their final GCSE mark.
Past projects have included:
- Give away promotional items.
- Shop display systems
- Desktop storage
- Innovative lighting
- Trophies and medals for sporting events
