Resistant Materials Course Description
In this subject we build on students existing designing and making skills using wood, metal, plastics and other resistant materials to produce a variety of quality products.
The various projects we undertake further the student’s knowledge and understanding, giving them the confidence to select and use a range of tools and materials correctly and safely. Much of the course content is covered during year 10 with an increasing emphasis on industrial practice and the use of CAD/CAM. During Year 11 the main focus is on the design and manufacture of the major GCSE project which contributes 60% of the final grade.
Past projects have included: • The design and manufacture of children’s toys Written examination 40% |
