PTFA AGM 18 JANUARY 2016
On Monday 18th January we held our AGM of the PTFA the minutes of which are available on the school website under PTFA.
At this meeting we review the activities of the PTFA over the previous year, a new committee is set up and ideas for fundraising are proposed for the year to come. We also hear from Roger Pope who brings with him the wish list drawn up by his department heads. We then agree how the monies raised will be spent!
At this years’ AGM our chair of many years stepped down. Julie Cardrick has worked tirelessly to raise the profile of the PTFA, recruit more people to the team and generate ideas for fundraising events with a wide appeal. The function of the PTFA is not only raise money for the college but also to promote community links. Events like St Nick's and the Summer Soiree are good examples if this. We thank Julie for her commitment and her leadership - she has done a splendid job.
As a result of our fundraising over the last few months the PTFA will be providing new staging for the Drama and Music departments, new easels for the Art department and new netball dresses for the U14 and U16 netball teams. Our projects for the next few months include raising funds to replace the school minibuses!
Whilst we have appointed officers to the post of Treasurer and Secretary we do not presently have an individual who wishes to take on the role of Chair. We have decided that we will look for two Co-chairs, thus sharing the responsibility. As most of the events this year are in the planning stage already, with leaders for most of them, the function of the Co-chairs will be to oversee progress being made, make sure events are being promoted and to manage the termly meetings. We are a cohesive and supportive team with a positive attitude, so they won’t be working alone.
Are any of you willing to take on the Chairing role with a friend? We'd like to hear from you!
