Safeguarding

Safeguarding is our most important responsibility as a college. Happy and healthy students, who are free from harm, are more likely to be successful throughout their education and thrive on their journey towards adulthood.

We recognise our moral and statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all students. We endeavour to provide a safe and welcoming environment where children are respected and valued. We are alert to the signs of abuse and neglect and follow our procedures to ensure that children receive effective support, protection and justice.

Due to their day-to-day contact with students, staff are uniquely placed to observe changes in behaviour and the outward signs of abuse. Students may also turn to a trusted adult in school when they are in distress or at risk. It is vital that all school staff are alert to the signs of abuse and understand the procedures for reporting their concerns. We will always act on identified concerns with the best interests of the student at the heart of all that we do.

If you are concerned about any child’s safety or wellbeing, please contact the college and you will be directed to the appropriate member of staff based upon the incident.
