The U14 team reached the Semi-finals of the Tier 3 National Schools Hockey competition

19th November 2018

The U14 team reached the Semi-finals of the Tier 3 National Schools Hockey competition on Thursday 15th November.

They beat Sidmouth College A 2-0, beat Devonport High School for Girls B team 1-0 and drew drew 0-0 with Newton Abbot and Sidmouth Bs.

They finished the round robin on 8 points and in second place meaning they faced Newton Abbot College in the semi finals.

It was a well-matched contest with Kingsbridge having most of the possession and some excellent through balls from Safiaya and Cian to our strikers. However after a fantastic tournament, one breakaway from the Newton Abbot forwards was too much for Freya (GK) to clear on her own and we went down 0-1 with only a couple of minutes to go.

They learned a key lesson in this game; you have to take your opportunities.

Well done to all girls who played and thank you to Bella Hartley, Georgia Tucker, Daisy Womack and Gemma Cadle (KCC Student Leaders) for their efficient running of the tournament.
