Ten Tors Challenge

17th May 2019

Last weekend, six teams of students representing Kingsbridge Community College and Horizons Youth Centre, took part in the gruelling Ten Tors event.

After training hard since October, teams undertook the challenge of walking 35, 45 or 55 miles across Dartmoor.

Determination and resilience were words of the weekend, as students not only battled the rough Dartmoor terrain but also survived independently, carrying everything with them that they needed to be self-sufficient during their time out on the moors. After a season of training in strong winds, rain and hail, the teams were treated to the other end of the spectrum, with glorious sunshine and great visibility to aid them on their way.

Everyone at KCC is extremely proud of all the students who have taken part in Expedition Training this year. We would also like to thank all our staff, particularly our volunteers, who give up their time to train students and make the event happen.
