We have an outstanding, popular and welcoming Sixth Form, with students joining us from a wide geographical area across South Devon.  Our impressive range of subjects and outstanding outcomes attract high numbers in traditional A levels, as well as specialist areas like Business Studies, Photography and Philosophy. We also offer a range of Vocational and Work Based Learning Qualifications.

Our students study three A level subjects or equivalent from the beginning of Year 12, with some students additionally taking an EPQ (Extended Project Qualification). A few will take the additional challenges of a fourth A Level or equivalent based on their aptitude and chosen pathway after 6th Form.

We support our students’ academic progress by a system of target setting and monitoring. We also provide excellent guidance for students, as well as additional mentoring for those making Oxbridge applications or preparing for BMAT and UKCAT (medical) or Law entrance exams. The vast majority progress on to university and the sophisticated guidance system we have invested in, using both qualified advisors and online support, ensures that they are well advised in their decision-making.

We have a strong focus on school leadership and on students taking responsibility for their progress. We also strive to help our students develop as confident and positive young adults and have an excellent enrichment and tutorial programme to support this that help our students become confident and articulate young adults.

Sixth formers at Kingsbridge Community College play an important part in determining the future of the school, having the opportunity to leave behind a legacy for the next generation of sixth formers through their actions, interactions and, most importantly, their achievements.  In short, they help determine the character of the school.

Together we work to challenge, inspire and support our students towards achieving their best possible outcomes, whist helping them to care about themselves, each other and their community.
