Kingsbridge Students Conquer Ten Tors 2025 with All Six Teams Completing the Challenge

Kingsbridge Community College is celebrating an incredible achievement this month as all six of its student teams successfully completed the prestigious Ten Tors Challenge on Dartmoor.

The college entered four 35-mile teams, one 45-mile team, and one 55-mile team, with every single participant crossing the finish line. The Ten Tors Challenge, organised by the British Army, is one of the UK’s toughest youth endurance events, testing navigation, stamina, and teamwork over rugged terrain with participants carrying all their own equipment.

The achievement is a result of months of training, careful preparation, and an enormous team effort from the wider college community. KCC’s success also reflects the commitment to outdoor education and personal development that is central to the college’s ethos.

KCC extends heartfelt thanks to the many parents, carers, staff and volunteers who supported students throughout their Ten Tors journey, from early training hikes to final finish-line celebrations. Their support has been key to helping students push beyond their limits and achieve something truly memorable.

Tina Graham, Principal at Kingsbridge Community College, said:

“We are unbelievably proud of every student who took part in this year’s Ten Tors. Completing any of the distances is a remarkable feat and to have all six teams finish is truly outstanding. It speaks volumes about the character, resilience and determination of our students, and the unwavering support from our dedicated staff, volunteers, and families.”

Matthew Shanks, CEO of Education South West, said:

“This is an incredible accomplishment that highlights the power of teamwork, leadership and perseverance. Events like Ten Tors develop qualities that go far beyond the classroom, and we’re so proud of Kingsbridge Community College for providing such opportunities and celebrating every success along the way.”
